Based in Recife, in the state of Pernambuco, Mestre Ambrosio are part of a trend that continues the musical line of Jackson du Pandeiro, Luiz Gonzaga and the Pifanos de Caruaru. Their avant-garde creations are rooted in the traditional music of the Brazilian Northeast, which is itself inspired by the Arabo-Andalusian tradition of the Iberian peninsula.
